About
A collective that became a company
Amazonia Beats is an audiovisual production company based in Brasília, founded in 2010 and registered as a company in 2012. The original idea was to form a collective of artists and cultural producers connecting people to opportunities in film and music production.
Since then it has produced everything from music videos to commercial films, with more than 18 Brazilian audiovisual works filed with ANCINE — the National Film Agency — and others being registered. Since 2017 it has kept a commercial address in Águas Claras and, since 2023, a fully equipped shooting and production studio.
The company invests in cinema through independent production, supported by a network of other Brasília production houses, screenwriters and film professionals. It is directed by Mael Duarte.
International collaboration
Projeto Afro does not start from zero
The bridge to artists from other countries predates Projeto Afro. Between 2019 and 2022 the company produced work with Bolivian artists Yeyel and Jam Caribe — including the music video “Bonita” (2022), shot as an immersion in Bolivian culture, and the tracks of the Reggaeton Tropical project, which circulated across several Latin American countries.
The company has also produced commercial films in Brasília aimed at the diplomatic community, with cinematography planned to present the capital’s architecture and heritage.
Projeto Afro applies the same method — direct encounter between artists, shared production, documented work — now towards the African continent.
Technical range
From camera to 3D animation
The company’s output ranges from location documentary — such as “Velho Chico” and “O Sertão de Juazeiro”, shot in the São Francisco Valley — to music videos with visual effects and 3D environments, as in “Frontear” and “London Cancun”, the latter filmed in 4K.
Between the two extremes sits “Vai pra Mente” (2017), shot in Setor H Norte, Brasília, with more than 50 professionals involved — one of the largest independent productions ever made in the city.
