Projeto Afro
Music and film built across two continents. A cultural exchange initiative between Brazilian and African artists — real collaboration, with names and credit.
The initiative
Not influence from afar. Work done together.
The reggaeton, rap and Latin trap that Leo Maverick and Kadyn produce in Brazil share a rhythmic root with the music made in Africa. Projeto Afro exists to turn that root into joint work — writing, recording and filming with African artists.
After years focused on the Latin market, the artists are now directing production and outreach towards the African continent: Mozambique, Nigeria, Malawi and beyond. The first work is “Africa Girl”, featuring Mozambican artist Medisson Diplomata — his debut.
